Each spring, the Czech Center Museum Houston comes alive with music, dance, cuisine, and heritage as the Annual Spring Festival returns to the heart of Houston’s Museum District. Drawing locals and visitors to celebrate Czech and Slovak culture in Texas, this afternoon of food and entertainment is a cultural bridge, connecting generations, immigrants, families, and curious neighbors.

Synopsis: Premiering in Un Certain Regard at Cannes, Caravan is a tender, lyrical road movie about breaking free and rediscovering life. Ana Geislerová shines as Ester, a woman who, weary from years of self-sacrifice, steals a battered caravan while on holiday in Italy and sets off with her teenage son David, who has an intellectual disability, on a journey through the sun-drenched south. Along the way, they meet Zuza, a spirited drifter whose open heart transforms their fragile bond into something freer, lighter, and filled with unexpected hope. Jan Reich, one of the last classical proponents of Czech photography, relentlessly photographed the history and architecture of his childhood Prague, hauntingly picturesque Bohemian landscape, and finally historical and religious landmarks of his native Czech Republic. Drawing on the rich history of early 20th century Czech photography, Reich was inspired to document the obvious and hidden beauty of his surroundings.
