VOLUNTEER AT THE CCMH
Each year, our volunteers contribute to the cultural vibrancy of this great city by donating their time to the CCMH. Men and women of different backgrounds, from high school students to retirees, help the museum to meet its goal of bringing art, culture, and history into the lives of people throughout Houston’s diverse communities. At the CCMH, volunteer opportunities encompass a broad range of abilities and interests. Options include leading tours of the galleries, helping in the gift shop, greeting guests, and facilitating children’s art projects. CCMH volunteers contribute a minimum of 100 hours per year. For details, please scroll down to the Opportunities sections.
How to Apply
To become a CCMH volunteer, first complete and submit an online application. Next, you will be invited to attend an orientation meeting. This important step is required for all prospective volunteers so that you can learn about the available opportunities, tour volunteer areas of the museum, and meet the CCMH staff. Orientation meetings last about 2 hours.
Volunteer Opportunities for Teens
Although most volunteer openings at the CCMH are geared toward adults, certain events are perfect for younger volunteers. If you are between the ages of 14 and 19, please submit an online application. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must sign the application. Once the museum receives your paperwork via e-mail or USPS, your online application will be approved. You will be contacted via e-mail when volunteer opportunities arise for your age group.
Some of these activities include family days at the museum and the annual St. Nicholas Eve. Contact development@czechcenter.org or 713.528.2060 for more details.
