One of the virtual tours the museum provides is of the Petrin Tower. The virtual tour sets you on top of the tower overlooking Prague among the changing leaves for the fall season. During the summer months, The Rose Garden near the Petrin Tower would be in full bloom and covers nearly 15 acres.
The Petrin Tower was built in 1891 for the Jubilee Exhibition. It was built as a smaller version of the Eiffel Tower for Prague and is used as an observation and transmission tower.
No matter what time of year you visit, Petrin Tower and its gardens are always breathtaking and a perfect place to get away from the busy atmosphere of the city.
From the top of the tower, you can travel down the tower to see the St Lawrence Church and step inside the Mirror Maze on Petrin. Yes! You can look inside the building and see the mirror maze that was put together in 1891.
The building was originally built as a pavilion for the Jubilee Provincial Exhibition in Prague in 1891. The building originally stood at the corner of the Industrial Palace and was later moved to Petrin. While the building has had some changes over time, the Mirror Maze has only gained in popularity.

Prague’s Rose Garden is on the Petrin hill and covers around 15 acres of land. The garden is home to over twelve thousand roses. During the summer, most of the roses will be in full bloom bringing bright color and sweet scents to Petrin hill.

The Rose Garden was created during the Baroque reconstruction of chateau Děčín in the 17th century. Děčín is a castle built on the bank of the Elbe and Ploučnice. The castle dates back to a possible medieval fort and then to a Gothic Castle and then was remodeled to coming trends in architecture.
Děčín chateau’s Rose Gardens have come a long way since its first plans. The garden once featured over 87 different species of roses. The rose garden overlooks the nearby town and is also a great place to catch the sunset at night. Today, this garden is a must-see when visiting Děčín chateau.

While many are not able to travel this summer, you can still enjoy these roses from Houston at the Czech Center Museum.
